Lifeguards
The Lifeguard season begins Memorial weekend and runs through
Labor Day weekend. The Town of Carolina Beach places 14 lifeguard
stands covering approximately 2 miles of beach strand. Each
stand is clearly marked with the closest street location to
help identify where you are on the beach. Lifeguards are on
duty from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm seven days a week. Our lifeguards
continue to work towards USLA certification and practice daily
for the safety of our citizens and visitors.
Beach rules prohibit alcohol and glass containers. Animals are allowed on the
beach from November 1st to February 28th as long as they are on a leash. The
sand dunes are protected under State and Federal statute. We request that you
respect this natural area. Driving, overnight camping and open fires are prohibited
along the beach strand within the corporate city limits.
Rip current signs (see
sign here) have been placed at popular public beach accesses, on each lifeguard
stand, and at the public bathrooms/showers. Please make yourself and your families
familiar with these signs. They could save your life.
