Human Resources Department
In
accordance with the personnel, policies and procedures manual of the town of
Carolina Beach, the town manager may delegate the duties of human resources officer.
This department is responsible for administering the health care coverage for
the towns employees. Recruits qualified candidates for employment with
the assistance of a personnel advisory committee. Maintains the personnel, policies
and procedures manual and positions classification by recommending necessary
changes to the town manager. Maintains the towns personal and liability
insurance and workers compensation programs and files claims for such.
Administers the wellness program for the town employees.
The goal of this department is to focus on improving the quality of life for
the towns employees by reinforcing the importance of good health. Through
promotion of good health we hope to achieve improvement in employee performance,
reduction of absenteeism and insurance claims that will result in a savings
to the employees and the town of Carolina Beach.
The Carolina Beach
Wellness committee hosts an annual employee/community health
fair with more than 60 vendors to provide free public services
to include numerous health screens and information booths.
This is a community event and the wellness committee encourages
all citizens to participate. Date and time of health fair
will be advertised through local news media.
