Mission
Statement
The
Carolina Beach Police Department is committed to being the
kind of organization we and the citizens we serve are proud
of and believe in; and we intend to represent the best the
law enforcement profession has to offer; and where all employees,
regardless of rank or job classification, have an opportunity
to contribute, learn, grow, and receive recognition for
accomplishment; and maintain the highest standards of performance
and ethics in our personal and professional conduct; and
where the citizens we serve are treated with dignity and
respect.
We will actively participate in a partnership with the community
to identify factors contributing to crime; create and implement
action strategies that reduce crime and enhance the quality
of life for all individuals, families, and neighborhoods.
We will constantly monitor our progress towards accomplishing
this Mission.
Community Oriented Policing
The Carolina Beach Police Departments Mission Statement
goes hand in hand with our commitment to the implementation
of our Community Oriented Policing philosophy. Some of these
philosophies include the Senior Outreach Program
that allows our senior citizens or their families to enlist
our services on a daily basis which an officer will spend
time with those that may need companionship, checking on
living conditions, and keeping up with their general health
and welfare. We keep emergency listings of family members
in case we feel they should be informed of any unforeseen
problems or unfavorable conditions. Our Criminal Investigation
Division is active with the Community Watch Program
in which they work with neighborhood organizations during
the year to establish community watch programs and get them
up and running. Groups are instructed on Crime Prevention
techniques on residential security, personal theft security,
and property identification. Another program implemented
Citizen Contact where all police officers do
a walk and knock to area merchants and citizens
within the community. Here they introduce themselves on
a one-on-one basis and assist citizens on any issues or
concerns they may have and hopefully solve any problems
they may have regardless of the nature of the concern.
