Carolina Beach is located in the southeastern coastal plain of North Carolina. Our weather is dominated by the ameliorating effects of the Gulf Stream. The Gulf Stream is an "eastern boundary current" that transports massive amouts of water from the tropical regions of the the Caribbean Sea.

The Gulf Stream is located approximately 45-60 miles offshore and supports a great abundance of sea life. Warmer temperatures in our nearshore and offshore waters extend our fishing seasons. Our wrecks and reefs are home to many species of tropical fish and other organisms.
