The Town of Carolina Beach is currently undertaking a Master Development Plan for the Central Business District. The Plan will establish a clear vision for the future and will guide how redevelopment initiatives and community improvements are undertaken over the next several years.
The Town has hired the planning and design firm of peter j. smith & company inc. to develop the Plan. The primary scope of work that will be undertaken by the consulting team includes a physical inventory and analysis of the study area, a retail/office, housing and tourism market analysis, the study of alternative concepts and development scenarios, preparation of the master plan document with illustrative renderings, and outlining of a detailed implementation strategy to move the Plan forward once it is complete.
This study is important to all of us. It is imperative that the community become actively involved in developing the Master Development Plan and setting our future course of direction. There are several ways to do this including participating in public meetings, attending steering committee meetings, and submitting your comments directly to us through this website.
