Creating An Emergency Disaster Kit

Items to include in your Emergency Disaster Kit.  It's a good idea to keep enough supplies on hand to last up to two weeks.

First aid kit and essential medications.
Canned food and manual can opener.
At least 3 gallons of water per person.
Protective clothing and rain gear.
Bedding or sleeping bags.
Battery-powered radio, flashlights and extra batteries.
Special items for infants, elderly or disabled.
Copy of your insurance policy and other important documents in a watertight container.


Other items to keep on hand at home.
Cooler and ice.
Pillows, blankets and sleeping bags.
Games, Books and Playing cards.
Baby food, disposable diapers, formula.
Tools, nails, duct tape.
Plenty of cash.
Fire extinguisher
Disposable plates, cups, utensils.
Disposable washcloths and paper towels.
Bleach (without additives).
Trash Bags.
Water storage containers.
Fuel can and fuel, sterno.
Mosquito repellant.
Bottled water.
Powdered packaged drinks.
Crackers, cereals, cookies and snacks.
Canned meats, fruits, vegetables, soups, puddings and milk
Special dietary foods.
Peanut butter and jelly.
Powered milk.
Dried Fruit.
Instant coffee or tea.
