National Night Out

National Night Out is an annual event, held the first Tuesday in August.  The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for local anti-crime programs; promote neighborhood pride and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Each year our event continues to grow and we anticipate this happening with each passing year. In 2014 Carolina Beach Police Department, Kure Beach Police Department, Carolina Beach Fire Department, New Hanover County Sheriff's Office and Watch for Me NC all participated in educating children about crime prevention and had fun giveaways.  They also brought out patrol cruisers, humvee and fire trucks for kids to play on and learn how to use the sirens of course!

The National Night Out event is held in conjunction with Carolina Beach Boardwalk Initiative that puts on Family Night on Tuesdays at the Gazebo.
