Warning Description: Heat Advisory
Warning Date: 9:57 am EDT on August 12, 2010
WarningSum:...Heat Advisory Remains In Effect Until 6 Pm Edt This Evening...
Warning Message:High temperatures in the mid to upper 90s this afternoon coupled
with modest humidity readings...will produce afternoon heat index
values between 105 and 107 degrees.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
If venturing outside for a lengthy period of time...make sure you
drink plenty of fluids...wear light colored and light weight
clothing...and take plenty breaks in the shade.
Please do not leave children or pets unattended in vehicles...as
this could prove fatal in a short period of time.
Check up regularly on the elderly and children. Make sure outside
pets and livestock are well ventilated and have available drinking
water.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected.
This will create potentially hazardous conditions for those prone
to heat related illnesses.
