CB Allows Dining in Restaurant Parking Lots
Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Order No. 141 implementing Phase 2 in North Carolina allows restaurants to resume on-premise dining with restrictions effective Friday, May 22, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. To promote additional economic opportunities for restaurants in our community, Mayor LeAnn Pierce has amended the Carolina Beach State of Emergency Declaration giving special allowances for outdoor dining that will create additional seating areas for restaurant patrons.
Proclamation 20-2226 temporarily eases current regulations and allows Carolina Beach restaurants the ability to use up to 25% of their parking area for outdoor customer dining. Restaurants that wish to participate in this program should submit a proposed site plan of the additional seating area to the Town for review/approval. Any extra outside dining sections are subject to all safety measures and restrictions included in the Governor’s order.
We hope this special allowance will help ramp up local business while carefully returning to normal. Please remember to follow safety guidelines and recommendations by the CDC when in public or while dining at one of Carolina Beach’s great restaurants.
