The entire bound bid document must be submitted and placed in a sealed envelope with the following transcribed: The proposal recipient, the name, address, and phone number of the bidder, the name of the contract for which the bid is being submitted, and the time and date of the bid opening.
The drawings, a bid form, and additional bid documents may be obtained by contacting Erin Kopf at erin.kopf@summitde.com . Bids must be made on the provided bid form and must be accompanied by a certified check payable to the Town of Carolina Beach or bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. If awarded, a surety bond or deposit will be required for the full amount of the contract.
Interested General Contractors and Sub-Contractors are encouraged to attend a Pre-Bid Conference on Monday, October 20th at 11:00am EST at 110 Carl Winner Ave, Carolina Beach, NC 28428.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance, and the time specified on the proposals for the performance of the contract. The right is reserved to hold any or all proposals for a period of thirty (30) days from the opening thereof. Contractors shall provide HUB certification if applicable and shall make an effort to seek subcontractor HUB participation. Any and all questions concerning this bid or the supplied documents shall be sent in writing via email to the attention of Erin Kopf at erin.kopf@summitde.com on or before Tuesday, November 4th at 2:00pm EST.
An addendum to address all questions will be posted to the previously listed bid document hyperlink no later than Tuesday, November 6th at 4:00pm EST. It is the responsibility of the interested bidding parties to check the hyperlink for any new or additional documentation or information.
SCOPE OF WORK: The scope generally consists of a single-story office elevated on piers and is 650+/- GSF. This new building will be connected to the walkway of an existing elevated bathroom building – selective demolition will be required. The building’s program consists of a new walkway, enclosed office space, toilet room, shower room, and front porch. Associated site work includes cutting out existing asphalt and replacing it with a new concrete pad for parking underneath the building and new gravel in the storage areas.
