The Carolina Beach Police Department is committed to protecting and serving our community...and to being an integral part of Carolina Beach. Community outreach programs are designed to afford officers the opportunity to engage with community members proactively and not reactively. Our officers partner with community members and organizations to build positive relationships and a better community.
Below are some of the outreach programs with which CBPD are involved:
CAROLINA BEACH BLUELINERS The Carolina Beach Blueliners Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that is committed to the well-being of the community of Carolina Beach through events, recreational sponsorships, and promoting youth safety. A few events/organizations sponsored by or participated in by Blueliners include Carolina Beach Basketball, Pleasure Island Soccer Association, Special Olympics Polar Plunge, Carolina Beach Bike Rodeo, Heart of Hope Race, Trick or Treat Under the Sea and Adopt a Child at Christmas.
CBPD BIKE RODEO The CBPD Bike Rodeo brings children and their families together to help make a positive impact in our community by establishing positive relationships between the community and the Police Department, while also increasing awareness of bicycle safety. This event is completely free to all participants and provides t-shirts, food, entertainment, games and prizes, and helmets, as well as bicycle giveaways.
COFFEE WITH A COP Residents of Carolina Beach are invited to join CBPD staff for Coffee with a Cop at designated events each quarter. This is a great time to ask any questions you have about law enforcement in CB and to get to know our local police officers.
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
CITIZENS ACADEMY Citizens Academy is an opportunity for residents of Pleasure Island to learn about the daily functions and duties of the CBPD and to be introduced to the Criminal Justice System in general.
