North Carolina King Tides Project
CAROLINA BEACH TRACK THE EFFECTS OF TIDES
Carolina Beach is looking for individuals, groups, or businesses to sign up to monitor the town's tidal gauge at the TOWN MARINA for weekly reporting on a specific day of the week identified by you! The reading can be taken anytime between the times of 11am and 1pm. Individuals will need to be committed to this project for the calendar year (2018). We will be recognizing our volunteers for their time either by advertising their business, nonprofit, or just by acknowledging the individuals on our web page.
Sign up by clicking here and email us your preferred week day. Once approved we will respond and post your day on our site along with advertising your business, nonprofit or just acknowledge you for your contribution to making Carolina Beach a better place!

The King Tide Project is an international initiative to document extreme high tide events using photos. These photos can help us visualize how "normal" high tides could look in the future due to sea-level-rise which will impact local resources and community investments. Images shared can be used to track how future shoreline changes in addition to the existing shorelines.
|Tidal gauge is located:
Carolina Beach Marina at the end of the dock located in the SE corner of the Marina (instructions for using your smart phone to record the tide are on the hand rail).
